Location Manager at Gatton FuneralsSarah Schwamm joined Gatton Funerals in 2024 and now proudly serves as Location Manager. Before beginning her career in funeral service, Sarah spent 10 years in automotive sales. Her transition into the funeral profession was inspired by a genuine passion for helping people and supporting families through some of life's most challenging times.

Meet Sarah Schwamm
Sarah Schwamm joined Gatton Funerals in 2024 and now proudly serves as Location Manager. Before beginning her career in funeral service, Sarah spent 10 years in automotive sales. Her transition into the funeral profession was inspired by a genuine passion for helping people and supporting families through some of life's most challenging times.
What Sarah enjoys most about her role is guiding families through the funeral arrangement process and helping them create meaningful farewells that reflect the life, personality and legacy of their loved one. She finds great fulfilment in providing comfort and reassurance during difficult moments and is proud to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional care.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending quality time with her partner and daughter. Whether it's taking a day trip to the coast or joining her partner on truck deliveries, she values every opportunity to create lasting family memories.
Originally from a small town in Central New Zealand, Sarah moved to Australia in 2011 and has embraced the Australian way of life ever since. She has a lifelong passion for trucks and has even driven an AB Triple, one of the largest truck combinations on Australian roads. Sarah also speaks basic Māori, reflecting her strong connection to her New Zealand roots.
Sarah loves the relaxed lifestyle and strong sense of community found throughout the Lockyer Valley. She appreciates the genuine friendliness of local people and enjoys being part of a region where personal connections and community spirit remain so important.
Some of the most memorable funerals Sarah has been involved with have included special tributes that reflected a person's life, career and passions. From fire trucks and firefighters honouring one of their own, to convoys of trucks escorting the hearse on its final journey, these moments create powerful and lasting memories for families. Sarah believes that incorporating the people, professions, vehicles, and interests that shaped a person's life helps create a truly personalised farewell and a meaningful celebration of their story.
Sarah is also passionate about supporting the local community. Alongside her team, she continues to build strong relationships with aged care facilities across the region and was proud to help distribute 1,000 poppies to attendees at the Gatton Anzac Day service.
As a small and close-knit team, Gatton Funerals takes a collaborative approach to caring for families. Sarah believes it is important that families feel comfortable and supported by every member of the team, ensuring seamless care throughout their journey. She is proud to lead a team that combines professionalism, compassion and strong local connections to help families create meaningful and memorable farewells.
